Farmers in Ancient Egypt were mostly slaves or peasants working for the pharaoh on rich and fertile land. Other farmers that worked for themselves and lived in a mud brick homes worked long hours and every year did the corvee tax to maintain the channels and fields. If this was not achieved the farmers would not be able to use these items because of blockage and damage. The wife of the family would make and prepare food on a cow dung fueled oven as well as made clothes for the family came from linen that was made from the flax grown.
