Each season had a huge effect on farmers which allowed them to get the most of the land.
Akhet, is the flooding season that started in June and ended in September. It was the season of waiting for farmers for the flood to end and the next season to come. Peret, is the growing season that started in October and ended in February. It was given for growing crops on fertile soil to sell and store for the rest of the year. Shemu, is the harvesting season started in March and ended in May. It was the season for harvesting crops and then storing them for food for the rest of the year. |
